The main plot of the book is them running from some crazy assassins. The germ–an advanced form of the Ebola virus–has been genetically engineered to infect only those people whose DNA matches the codes embedded within it.

Even the few little moments of drama felt like a high speed chase, it was read so fast. Deadfall and Deadlock are more intimate thrillers, confined to tighter geographic locations. The near pages did not help its case, either. Where a single person–or millions–could be killed with perfect accuracy and zero collateral damage.

I liked the scientific scenario in this book, it was very creative. My eyes are far more relaxed with the new colours too. As difficult as it seems, I was becoming bored with the sheer overwhelming number of fight scenes.

This is Christian fiction, but I don’t think that that really matters at all except for the lack of colorful language. Germ starts with a frenetic disease scene, followed by a frantic car chase, and an assassin’s eye-view of his target, all in rapid-fire succession.


The thing is I probably would have enjoyed this book better if it didn’t have the whole disease idea. Not what I was expecting. When federal security officers intercept a man trying to meet the director of the CDC, they unknowingly become entangled in a chase by two opposing entities trying to retrieve that man, and those entities will it hesitate to use deadly force to get him back, dead or alive.

Where a single person—or millions—could be killed with perfect accuracy and zero collateral damage. I assumed it would be a story about this germ hence the title that was ravaging the nation. I hope that he will work on developing more believable characters with a more realistic side.
